Hi, my name is Valeria Ciccarelli, I am an Italian stylist and embroiderer.
I have been living in Toronto for 4 years.
I was born in Frosinone (Italy) . I attended the A. Valente Art Institute fashion and costume section, in Sora, Italy, 2003 – 2008. Subsequently I lived for 10 years in Rome (Italy), where I frequent The International Academy of Haute Couture and Art of Costume , KOEFIA Rome, 2009 – 2011 Received Certificate of Specialization: “Quality Assurance Fashion Stylist” and Certificate of Professional Qualification: “Fashion Stylist”.
Experiences :
I worked for the Niccoli Ricami (Studio for Haute Couture Embellishments) Rome, Italy (From Dec 2012 to Dec 2018).
As a hand embroiderer and quality control manager. I had the opportunity to embroider for the most important brands in Houte Couture, like : Valentino, Gucci, Mafalda Von Hessen, Bulgari, Tom Ford, Yves Saint Laurent, Ge-De-Be, Christian Dior, Fendi, Giorgio Armani and The Row.
Hand-selected for restorations at exhibits by Gucci (Florence) and Fendi (Rome).
Examples of work done for show-business personalities :
- Worked on Mika’s personal Valentino line for his Italian TV show “Stasera Casa Mika” (National TV Rai 2, Nov to Dec 2016).
- Hand embroidery for the personal guitar strap for the Italian singer Jovanotti signed by Valentino.
- Worked on Gucci ’s production of Madonna’s veil (featured in Harper’s Bazaar).
Domo Zero (studio for fashion accessories using recycled nautical sails) – Rome, Italy (From Apr 2013–
Sep 2013).
- Design and Fashion Stylist Manager.
- Exhibit representative at Fuorisalone 2013, (Milan, Italy).
- The Hotel Show and Leisure Show 2023, (Dubai, United Arab Emirates).
- Teaching Assistant, twice in 2013. Taught students the main techniques of embroidery on various textiles during the “Seminario di Ricamo“ embroidery workshop for the Università “La Sapienza” (Faculty of Fashion science ) – Rome, Italy.
I worked a hand sewing operator for Ines Di Santo Corporation (Couture Wedding Dresses) Toronto, Canada (from 25 Feb 2019 to 25 November 2022).
Now I’m at the beginning of my Haute Couture activity, I create tailor-made clothes using the tailoring method, building the paper pattern on the mannequin, starting from the drawing of a sketch I personalize the garments using paintings and embroidery, all done by hand and with precision.
